We host Wwoofers at our place to help out around Tara retreat. So far we’ve had visitors from France, USA, Germany, Belgium, the UK and Australia. We have two big vege gardens and a few fruit trees with various projects on the go (usually outside). Help is always needed in gardens & planting trees, chopping wood, etc

Quentin and Céline – “Perfect cultural-human exchange !!” Our stay by Glen and Nicola was perfect. They have a lovely family, they made us feel at home, and they are very cool. Glen is a music lover and an incredible open minded and nice men, it was really interesting to speak and work whith him. It’s why we did the jobs (gardening, planting, weeding,…) with pleasur. Beaches and waterfall in the area, and perfect cotage to sleep in (with wi-fi). It’s what i call a perfect cultural-human exchange… Thank you !
Alex and Margaret – “Great adventure with a fun family”
We had the best time with Glen, Nic, their girls, and their new dog, Possum! They are all wonderful people and made us feel right at home. We really admire their style of living, and their great hospitality made us want to work even harder for them. The tasks were varied, such as spreading wood chips over new plants, weeding, and planting. We stayed in a cozy caravan, and they also have a cottage that another wwoofing couple stayed in. They are in a great spot near a lot of things to do – perfect afternoon adventures after working in the morning. Glen knows heaps about NZ tramps, and has some hilarious stories! Thanks again for everything! Hope to see you on the trail soon 🙂
Joe and Katie – “”Magical” hosts. Nearby chocolate factory, beaches, waterfalls, hikes”
We’ve been to 5 hosts so far in New Zealand. This was my favorite place to stay because Mangawhai is magical and so are Glen and Nicola. Great hosts, entertaining family, wonderful parents to their girls, and one of the most beautiful towns in New Zealand. Chocolate factory, beaches, waterfalls, hikes. The WWOOFer accommodation was a spacious cottage with its own shower and toilet. Very comfortable stay, great food, and we were given flexible work hours.
